Description
Lapacho Tea, also called the Tea of the Incas, is the flagship offering by My Tea Czar.
Made from the inner bark of the Portuguese Bow Tree (Also known as Taheebo, Ipé Roxo or Pau D’arco in South Central America) its scientific name is Tabebuia impetiginosa or Tabebuia avellanedae.
Lapacho is traditionally brewed into a non-caffeinated delicious-tasting tea, described as a cross between Almonds and Vanilla. It is rich in essential Vitamins and Minerals and is touted to help maintain health and vitality.
In herbal medicine, extracts from the bark of the Bow Tree (Pau D’arco) contains a potent antioxidant known as Quercetin and is thought by the natives to be an effective treatment for a wide range of medical disorders. Pau D’arco is rich in naphthoquinones (plant-based compounds that exert antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal effects).
Traditional Teas are usually the leaves/seeds/roots/bark of various species of herbaceous trees/plants that may either be dried/roasted/fermented and brewed into a refreshing drink.
